Our music came from Ireland and Scotland to Newfoundland, Canada in the early 1800's and has been a tradition passed down from generation to generation. I can still hear my first musical sounds as my father played the Irish accordion and as mom step danced in the kitchen. It became a major part of our lives as we grew up. I can still remember everyone gathering at our house on Friday evenings. Today we are still carrying on those musical traditions through the sounds of the accordion, bagpipes, guitar, and penny whistle.
